Dr Sarah Metias gained her MJDF from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2011. She has practised dentistry in the United Kingdom ever since. She owns and personally runs Tower Dental Blackpool. She also owns the sister practice, Station House Dental Care in Barnoldswick.

Sarah’s clinical interests are cosmetic and restorative dentistry (repairing damaged teeth). She works most often with composite bonding (tooth-coloured filling material shaped onto your teeth) and porcelain veneers. She also takes great care with nervous patients. Many of her most loyal patients first came to her after years of avoiding the dentist. For some it was decades. Sarah’s approach is unhurried and never judgemental. It is built on honest talk. She will tell you when a treatment you have read about online is not right for you. She will then suggest the gentlest option that gets the result you actually want.

A first appointment with Sarah usually lasts 45–60 minutes. That is longer than most NHS or high-volume private practices book. She will take a full history. That includes any past dental anxiety. She will examine your teeth, gums and bite carefully. She will ask what you would like to change about your smile, if anything. You will leave with a written treatment plan. It explains your options, the costs and the realistic results. Sarah does not upsell. If a treatment you have read about online is not the right answer for your mouth, she will tell you so. She will then suggest the gentlest option that gets you the result you actually want.

Sarah is a GDC-registered dentist. So she completes the General Dental Council’s required continuing professional development. That is at least 100 verifiable hours every 5 years. Her Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England also requires her to keep up with current evidence.
