Waiting shouldn't be part of dental care

Stuck on a list — or without a dentist at all?

Maybe you've been told there's no NHS space for adults, you've been waiting months for a check-up, or a niggle you've been ignoring is starting to worry you. Putting it off rarely makes it easier — small problems are cheaper and simpler to sort early.

You don't have to wait. Book a first exam — £79 including X-rays — get a clear picture of your mouth and a written plan — with no pressure to go ahead.

Your first three steps
1
Book your new-patient exam
Your first exam is £79, or included in membership from £19.50/month. Most new patients are seen within 7 working days.
2
Get a clear written plan and price
You leave with an honest assessment and any recommended treatment itemised in writing — no surprises, no pressure.
3
Start treatment when you're ready
Spread the cost with 0% finance over 6 or 10 months via V12, subject to status. Tower Dental is a credit broker, not a lender.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. Tower Dental Blackpool actively welcomes new patients of all ages and backgrounds. We accept new patients on three pathways: as a member of one of our adult dental membership plans (from £19.50/month), as a member of our children's plan (from £9.99/month), or on a pay-as-you-go basis with no membership commitment. We do not currently offer NHS treatment for adults.

Most new adult patients are offered an examination appointment within 5 to 7 working days of their first contact. New patient examinations for cosmetic treatments such as dental implants, veneers and Invisalign are typically available within 7 days as well, although the £40 cosmetic consultation operates as a separate, dedicated 60-minute session.

What happens at your first appointment

Your new patient examination is scheduled for 30 minutes. It includes:

There is no obligation to proceed with any treatment. Many new patients leave the first examination with no recommended treatment beyond regular hygiene visits.

Transferring from another dentist

You do not need to formally "deregister" from a previous practice before joining Tower Dental. Your previous practice will continue to hold your records and we can request copies (including X-rays) at your written request — this often saves a fresh set of X-rays at your first visit and can be done within a few days.

If you have been on an NHS dental list, the move to private care is straightforward: you simply stop attending NHS appointments. There is no penalty, fee, or formal process. Your NHS file remains with your previous practice and you can return to NHS care at any future point if you choose.

What to bring to your first appointment

If you are a nervous patient, please tell our reception team when booking. We have specific processes for nervous and anxious patients including longer first appointments, careful explanation, and extra time and support for any treatment that follows.

Frequently asked new-patient questions

Do I need to fill in any forms before my first appointment?
We send a short medical history form by email after you book, which takes about 5 minutes to complete. You can also fill it in at the practice on arrival if you prefer paper. The medical history is necessary for safe clinical care and is held confidentially.
Is there parking?
Yes. There is free on-street parking on Devonshire Road directly outside the practice, with no time restriction during practice hours. Devonshire Road is also well served by the Blackpool tram (Bispham stop is 5 minutes' walk) and several local bus routes.
Is the practice wheelchair accessible?
The practice is on the first floor and is not wheelchair accessible. There is a stairlift for patients who can transfer and manage stairs with support — please tell us when booking so we can help, and if stairs are not possible for you, call 01253 353759 to discuss alternatives for patients with mobility requirements. Please mention this when booking so we can prepare and ensure your appointment runs smoothly.
Can I bring a friend or family member?
Yes — many new and nervous patients bring a family member or friend for support. They are welcome to remain in the surgery during the examination if you would prefer.
What if I change my mind after registering?
There is no contractual lock-in. If you join a dental membership plan and decide it isn't for you, you can cancel with one month's written notice. You are not penalised, and any unused months are not pro-rated.
