Can Invisalign
Fix an Overbite?
Short answer: usually yes for mild to moderate overbites, sometimes no for severe ones. Here's the honest version, before you spend anything.
The short answer
Mild to moderate overbites are routinely corrected with Invisalign and clear aligners, often using small tooth-coloured attachments and elastics. Severe skeletal overbites — where the jaw position itself is the cause — may need fixed braces or, rarely, jaw surgery. Which camp you're in is exactly what the consultation establishes.

Overbites & Aligners — What Works, What Doesn’t
First: which overbite do you mean?
People use 'overbite' for two different things. A deep bite is the upper front teeth overlapping the lowers too far vertically. An overjet — what people often call 'buck teeth' — is the upper teeth sticking out too far horizontally. Aligners handle both, but they're planned differently, and severity matters more than the label.
How aligners correct an overbite
Treatment combines sequenced tooth movements: intruding (pushing in) over-erupted front teeth, levelling the bite, and sometimes moving the whole upper arch back slightly using elastics anchored to attachments on the teeth. Modern aligner systems plan all of this digitally — which is why the 3D consultation scan shows you the projected end position before anything starts.
When aligners aren't the answer
If the overbite is skeletal — the jaws themselves are mismatched rather than just the teeth — aligners can only camouflage so much. Severe cases get a straight answer from us: fixed braces may do more, and a small minority of adult skeletal cases only fully correct with surgery. We'd rather tell you that at a £98 consultation than after months of treatment.
Why bother fixing an overbite at all?
Beyond appearance: deep bites wear the lower front teeth and can damage the gum behind the upper ones; large overjets put front teeth at much higher risk of trauma (a real consideration for sporty kids); and corrected bites distribute force properly, protecting fillings and crowns long-term.
The process at Tower Dental
The £98 orthodontic consultation includes examination and a 3D scan with a projected result. If you proceed, you'll have a written plan with the total price and 0% finance options over 6 or 10 months. After treatment, retainers are non-negotiable — teeth drift back without them, and we'll be blunt about that from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Invisalign fix a deep overbite?
Mild to moderate deep bites, usually yes — aligners with attachments and elastics intrude and level the front teeth. Severe or skeletal deep bites may need fixed braces; the £98 consultation with 3D scan tells you which applies.
How long does Invisalign take for an overbite?
Case-dependent — typically months rather than weeks, and bite correction usually takes longer than simple straightening. Your written plan includes a realistic timeline based on your scan.
How do I book an appointment at Tower Dental?
You can book in three ways: call 01253 353759 during opening hours, use the online booking form on any page of our website, or message us on WhatsApp. For cosmetic treatments (veneers, composite bonding, whitening, implants, Invisalign), we use a £40 Smile Consultation booking — this is payable online at booking and includes a full smile assessment, 3D digital preview and personalised treatment plan.
